Meet the Organization's Leadership

Barbara Diggs,M.A., is a prolific writer, a Cultural Lifestyle Coach Trainer and a practicing Christian LifeStyle Coach.  She is an inspirational orator with a mission to expand the sisterhood of Christian sisters among women, and is the founder of Wise Sisters.  She has worked in non-profit, human service and governmental settings with the foci on empowering disadvantaged women who lack relationship-support and the know-how to overcome life challenges.  Her training sessions and workshops incorporate a variety of approaches lifestyle coaches can use when guiding personal transformation work.  She is particularly interested in the power of the tradition of sisterhood and its rituals in the therapeutic relationship.  She writes with great insight and sensitivity, and is the author of nine books, including LifeStyle Coaching for the lay "sista".   Contact Barbara Diggs at oldwoman @wisesisterscircles.com.

 Organization Profile

Wise Sisters is a faith-based service organization established to support a diverse range of activities and service-oriented projects that introduce, sustain and support a healthy Christian lifestyle for adult women. The organization is a self-contained network whose suggested  activities supplement the work of the church, but in no way attempts to replace any regular worship practices or events carried out by the church.

Wise Sisters is an effective way for lay-persons to minister to other congregation members, co-workers and neighbhors--relieving the church leadership of some of the demands of having to see to all the various needs.  All program content reflects bible-based principles, presented in a non-denominationa approach coupled with holistic consideratioons (the spiritual, physical and social conditions).

The organization is headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, with regional offices located in Southfield, Michigan and Atlanta, Georgia. Chapters and sub-groups-—known throughout the sisterhood as “circles”—are formed by interested Christian women who make application to the administrative office, receive the subscribed training, and who agree to operate their circles according to the Wise Sister Terms and Conditions. The program-models leave room for local interpretation and are tolerant of variation. The options and benefits for inclusion as a Circle operating under the Wise Sister umbrella may be summarized as follows:

Groups may form circles in the size that best meets their needs; however, the recommended size of circle participation is 9-12 women.
  • Groups may form as many circles as they want. Three or more circles constitute a “Chapter” and should be supervised by a Chapter Director.
  • Groups may elect to operate all Wise Sister programs or pick specific ones.
  •  All groups operating a Wise Sister program or forming a Wise Sister Chapter are eligible to receive assistance with apply for grants and funding assistance at no costs to registered circles.

Kindly email us for the full Terms and Conditions Statement.  You will find the Wise Sisters Terms and Conditions to be easy to comply with.
